Over at Eagle and Elephant (at blogspot), I have posted what I hope is an explanation on the possible meaning of Iran's statement that it would respond to Western demands/incentives for Iran to stop its nuclear development by August 22. At minimum, it is an explanation of the Islamic (-ist) significance of the date August 22 or as it is known in the Islamic calendar: Rajab 28.

It has something to do with Mohammed's ascension to heaven and Saladin's victory and entrance into Jerusalem. Let's hope it stays as something back in history, not something like history in the making ... as in a great glow that lights up the sky over Jerusalem.
